I hope your weekend is filled with candy, costumes and good times like this crowd from the 60s.

Happy Halloween!
October 31, 2009MHB Update
October 28, 2009Howdy!
Amidst my Halloween candy sugar high, I’ve purchased my actual domain for the blogo. So if you are still old school and typing in that URL, you now have exactly 10 less characters to type! You can now just reach me at myheartbehaves.com in the future.
Feel free to update your feed settings, like Google Reader, if that’s how you get your MHB fix, too.
And speaking of, are you following me on Reader? I realize I probably sound all behind, but I just discovered it’s great following other blog readers and/or writers. We can “share” and show what we “like” and it’s a great way to find other cool blogs about things you might be interested in or things you are not. Either way, just another way to spread the bloglove. (I’m coining that as a new term from now on!)
xo,
Kristina
Save the date: 12.31.09. My Heart Behaves celebrates one year. And I may or may not have a surprise up my sleeve.
See Jane Work
October 26, 2009I think we all know by now how much I have an affinity for school office supplies.
But tonight, while browsing some of my mother’s old Family Circle mags, I found a little gem known as See Jane Work.
Um, yes please! They carry their own line called See Jane Work Basics, which looks remarkably like Russell + Hazel (but who’s judging?), along with other goodies like Bob’s Your Uncle, Orla Kiely and SusyJack.
How clever is the 8 Days-A-Week Planner? I think we all need one of these! The art boxes, pins and pencils are all great staples I would use daily, as well.
PS: Family Circle? Kind of a cool magazine. Maybe they got hipper (the design is pretty luxe) or maybe I’m just getting older, but either way, I’m hooked!
A spot of tea?
October 22, 2009I think tea towels are my newest thing.
This one, called the Traveler from the hip peeps at Makool Loves You. is especially on the swell side.
Schmap Portland Guide
October 18, 2009I just checked my email and was shocked just tickled to find out that a photograph I took at the Portland Art Museum was selected and published in the Schamp Portland Guide.
View it here. Yay!
CityCraft
October 12, 2009CityCraft finally launched their website today! I’ve been eagerly waiting for this day. Their page says they are a “modern fabric boutique and sewing lounge.”
Um, you had me at modern fabric. No, but seriously, it sounds like it’s going to be a fun new shop to add to the Dallas craft scene.
I’ve been in the market for some fun fabric, so I plan to stop by as soon as the doors open. I’ve already spotted something that has caught my eye, the yellow zig zag. It’s lovely and faintly reminds me of this zig zag print I’ve had a crush on for some time.
Check out their blog for the latest news. I know I am …
Catch!
October 11, 2009TOMS
October 11, 2009When I was in LA a few months ago, TOMS were everywhere. I mean, to the extent that my friend Chance and I had many conversations about them and were determined to come home with a pair. Too bad Chance ended up with a knock off pair from H&M and I spent all of my money on other things. (How does that ALWAYS happen?)
But since then, I’d always had a soft spot for them, but I could never pick out a color I could live with.
That was until I saw these babies, the Aira Cordones. I think they are going on my Christmas Wish List. Wowzas, is that coming up fast or what?
Sasquatch? Or just a giant squash?
October 9, 2009I found this pumpkin at the New Flower Market. It was huge and ugly and I fell in love. But that fact that it weighed around 30+ pounds made me hesitate and we parted ways.
This weekend I’m headed out the the Arboretum for “The Great Pumpkin Festival” with few friends so I’m sure many photos are to come. Also, there just happens to be the Southern Artisans Market there this weekend. Lucky us!
And speaking of craft fairs, this Sunday is a BIG one. We’ll be heading over to Make’s Urban Street Bazaar. Make Studio, if you remember, is the place I took the sewing class at. So good times are expected all around. I’m hoping to come home with some fun stuff, and get more inspiration as a designer and Etsyer. (Is that a word? Probably not.)
Ooooooh, and how could I forget! I’m so excited to tell you that Studio 67 and Saucers & Milk will be both sponsors at the BIGGEST craft extravaganza of all, the Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash. I’ll be including a couple of stickers and a coupon for the shop in the goody bags they give out to the early birds. Look for us there!
Gimme, gimme more.
October 7, 2009More plate stands have been added to the shop.
Go take a look.
And while you’re at it, think about the holidays that are fastly approaching. We’re here for you.
And now that Britney song is stuck in my head; go figure.
